Later 17th-century mottled dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on five supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with inner frame of a blind roll with blind stamps at outer corners, and with vertical blind roll at spine edge; spine with five raised bands, and blind fillets and stamps; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; leather spine label with "Arguments" tooled in gilt; paper spine label with “1638-49” in ink; "1641" in gilt at tail of spine; leaves of blank paper bound between items; evidence of earlier stab stitching on some items.
