17th-century mottled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming two rectangular frames on boards, with blind stamps at inner and outer corners; gilt roll around board edges; spine with four raised bands and blind fillets; text block edges sprinkled red and brown; leather spine title label with "Religious Tracts”; evidence of previous stab stitching.

Loose inside: a note by Suzanne Eward, Librarian of Salisbury Cathedral: "If I am right in thinking that the writing at the front of this vol. is that of Richard Watson, then it is interesting that when listing title of (e) he does not put Christian name of author (himself?) as he does with all other authors".
