Late 17th-century dark brown leather (possibly goatskin) over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with gilt fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with gilt stamps at inner corners; spine with four raised bands and gilt tooling; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges gilded; marbled upper endleaves; parchment manuscript waste used to strengthen spine.
