17th-century black goatskin over paper boards; sewn on five supports; boards decorated with gilt fillets and rolls forming concentric rectangular frames, the corners joined with diagonal fillets, and with gilt stamps; spine with five raised bands, and decorated with gilt rolls and stamps; red leather spine label with author and title: "Pocock: Hist: Arab:"; gilt roll around board edges; gilt roll on turn-ins; text block edges gilded; marbled endleaves.
