Late 17th-century mottled dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with blind stamps at outer corners of inner frame; spine with four raised bands, and blind fillets and rolls; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges marbled; leather spine label with "Tracts on Scotland" tooled in gilt; "1638" in gilt at tail of spine; evidence of earlier stab stitching on some items.
