Title

The petition of the gentry, ministers, and commonalty of the county of Kent· : Agreed upon at the generall assizes last holden for that county. The copie of which petition being delivered to Judge Mallet (who was for that circuit) and afterwards to the Earle of Bristoll. Which petition being concealed from the Parliament by the Earle of Bristoll and the said Iudge Mallet, was for the same, both committed to the Tower, March 28. 1642..

17th-century mottled brown calf; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame on boards, with additional vertical blind fillet just inside spine edge; blind stamps at inner corners of frame; blind roll around board edges; spine with four raised bands, blind rolls at head and tail, and gilt fillets; evidence of spine label with title (now missing); “1659” in gilt at foot of spine; text block edges sprinkled red and blue; leaves of blank paper are bound between some of the items; items show evidence of previous stab stitching.
