17th-century mottled dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with blind stamps at inner and outer corners of inner frame; spine with four raised bands, and blind rolls at head and tail; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; leather spine label with "Political Tracts" tooled in gilt; paper spine label with "1591-1655" in ink; "1542" in gilt at tail of spine; leaves of blank paper bound between some of the items in the volume; evidence of earlier stab stitching on some items.

This may be a variant of ESTC R215021. The ESTC record has "summess of money" in the title, whereas the copy in hand has "summes". The copy in hand also has a preliminary leaf with a note dated 22 June 1642, licensing Lawrence Blaiklock "to make two impression of the Booke of Rates", signed "Hen. Elsynge Cler. Dom Com.", and stating "This Booke of Rates according to this order is revised and examined by Robert Pye. Iohn Harison. Tho. Hoyle. Giles Greenel Sam. Vassall. Iohn Rolles." This leaf is not recorded in the ESTC record, which gives the pagination as [2], 12 p. Page 10 is misnumbered 11. The fiinal leaf has has its top cut away, so that the pagination is not visible.
