The rates of merchandizes. : That is to say, the subsidie of tonnage, the subsidie of poundage, and the subsidie of woollen, cloaths, or old drapery. As they are rated and agreed on by the Commons House of Parliament set downe and expressed in this booke, to be paid according to the tenour of the Act of tonnage and poundage, from the first day of Iuly, anno Dom. MDCXLII. during the continuance of the said act..

17th-century mottled dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with blind stamps at inner and outer corners of inner frame; spine with four raised bands, and blind rolls at head and tail; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; leather spine label with "Political Tracts" tooled in gilt; paper spine label with "1591-1655" in ink; "1542" in gilt at tail of spine; interleaved with leaves of blank paper; leaves of blank paper bound between some of the items in the volume; evidence of earlier stab stitching on some items.
