Binding

17th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on fivue supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards; spine with five raised bands, blind hatching at head and tail, and horizontal gilt fillets; spine label with "Cotgraves French Dict:", and "1632" in gilt at tail of spine; gilt fillet around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; evidence of chain-plate on lower board.
