17th-century black goatskin; heavily gilt in panel pattern; large floral centre-pieces, with initial in oval at centre ("M" on upper board, "D" on lower board). Floral pattern in border. Spine with 14 panels, floral pattern. Holes for ties on both boards, covered on inside by later pastedowns. Now in archival box, c. 2018.
