Binding

16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; blind fillets forming concentric rectangular frames on boards, surrounding central panel stamps. On the upper board, the panel is heads-in-medallions (identified by David Selwyn as Oldham HM.15); on the lower board, the panel has two vertical columns of roundels with animals (identified by Selwyn as Oldham AN.14). Spine with three raised bands, and later gilt title and date; titles in ink on fore-edge; pressmark C36 on fore-edge; evidence of two ties on boards at fore-edge.
