16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets and rolls forming concentric rectangular frames on boards (roll identified by Selwyn as London "bar-in-centre", Oldham MW.c (1) 862); spine with four raised bands, horizontal gilt fillets, leather labels with titles, and "1563" in gilt at foot; title ("Eckius") in ink on fore-edge; pressmark (E52) on fore-edge; evidence of ties at fore-edge; parchment endleaf guards.
