16th-century dark brown calf over pasteboards (made of printed waste); spine repaired (20th-century?); sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind stamps at inner corners and at centre of boards; spine with four raised bands, later gilt fillets, and "Caspar: In Iohan Apost:" and "1546" in gilt; evidence of two ties at fore-edge; title in ink on fore-edge; pressmark B46 in ink on fore-edge; parchment manuscript waste used as pastedowns, now unstuck (identified by Selwyn as two fragments from a 12th-century English manuscript of Gregory I, Dialogi.
