16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four tawed leather supports; blind fillets on boards forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind oval centrepiece stamp; spine with four raised bands, horizontal gilt fillets, red goatskin spine label with author and title, and "1573" in gilt at foot of spine; remains of two ties at fore-edge; pressmark B44 in ink on fore-edge; parchment manuscript waste used as endleaf guards.
