16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards, sewn on three tanned leather supports; blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with blind stamps at outer corners of inner frame; spine with three raised bands, later gilt fillets, red leather spine label with "Spangenger Epistol: per Tot Ann:", and "1548" in gilt at foot; remains of two pairs of green ties at fore-edge; title in ink on fore-edge (faded); pressmark S41 in ink on fore-edge; printed waste used as pastedowns; parchment pastedown guard.
