Mid 16th-century dark brown calf over pasteboards; sewn on four tanned leather supports; blind fillets and roll forming concentric rectangular frames on boards (roll identified by Selwyn as Oldham MW.a(1) 857, signed "GK"); spine with four raised bands, blind fillets, later gilt fillets, and "Dionys: Comme: in liber: Sal:" and "1548" in gilt; evidence of two pairs of ties at fore-edge; titles in ink on for-edge; leaf of printed waste used as upper free endleaf; parchment manuscript waste used as pastedowns (identified by Selwyn as fragments from a 14th-century English manuscript of biblical history).
