19th-century tan calf over paper boards; 19th-century blind roll forming rectangular frame at perimeter of boards, with parts of the original 16th-century dark brown calf covers overlaid, with blind heraldic panel stamp on upper board (identified by Selwyn as Oldham HE.29) and rose panel stamp on lower board, with initials I N, for Julian Notary (identified by Selwyn as Oldham RO14); spine with four raised bands and blind tooling; marbled endleaves; title in ink on fore-edge; pressmark R51 in ink on fore-edge.
