16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four tawed leather supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards edges of boards, with blind lozenge-shaped centrepiece stamp; spine (partially missing) with four raised bands, and blind fillets and hatching; remains of two pairs of ties at fore-edge; titles in ink on fore-edge; pressmark A38 on fore-edge; parchment manuscript waste used as endleaf guards (identified by Selwyn as fragments from a 12th-century scientific manuscript).
