Given to Salisbury Cathedral Library by Thomas Burgess, Bishop of Salisbury, 28 Sept, 1836: "Bibliotheca Cathedralis Sarum Ex Dono Episcopi Sarisburiensis Thomae Burgess Sep: 28 1836" is inscribed on upper pastedown, and partially obscured by the bookplate.

17th-century parchment over paper boards; sewn on five supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind centrepiece stamp; spine with five raised bands; text block edges stained red; evidence of ties; later leather spine label with "Platonis Opera Ficini."
