19th-century half tan calf; boards covered with brown paper; blind tooling on the calf, where it meets the paper; spine with four raised bands, blind stamps, and gilt fillets; "Legenda Aurea" and "Argent MCCCCXCVI" in gilt on spine; early title and 16th-century pressmark M44 in ink on fore-edge.
