17th-century dark brown leather (possibly goatskin) over paper boards; sewn on four tanned leather supports; gilt fillets and rolls forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with gilt stamps at outer corners of inner frame, and central lozenge made up of small stamps; gilt roll around board edges; smooth spine with gilt rolls and stamps; text block edges gilded.

This copy contains two plates. One is folded, and depicts Charles I at prayer, and is bound opposite "The explanation of the frontispiece" (A4v). The other is a portrait of Charles I in a roundel, below which are the words "Charles by the grace of God, Kinge of England, Scotland France and Ireland, defendor of the faith, etc.", which is bound at the beginning of the volume.
