17th-century dark brown leather (possibly goatskin) over paper boards; sewn on four tanned leather supports; gilt fillets and rolls forming two concentric rectangular frames on boards, with gilt stamps at outer corners of inner frame, and central lozenge made up of small stamps; gilt roll around board edges; smooth spine with gilt rolls and stamps; text block edges gilded.
