Physical description
1 score ([1]-9, [3] p.) ; 31 cm
Note
The printed score is wanting pages 1 and 2; these have been replaced with a manuscript copy of those pages, the hand unidentified. The incomplete printed score is wrapped in a folded double-leaf of 12-stave manuscript paper upon the left-hand leaf of which is written the manuscript copy of pages 1 and 2.
Note
Title from caption in manuscript at head of page [1]; the caption appears to be a transcription of the original printed title, imprint information, etc.
Note
An anthem for 2 treble voices with a short chorus [TrATB] at the end; accompaniment for organ or piano forte. Includes figured bass, unrealized except in the concluding chorus where the accompaniment more or less doubles the chorus parts.
Note
Robert Birchall, music publisher of New Bond Street, died in December 1819. His successors, Christopher Lonsdale (1795-1877) and Richard Mills (1798-1870), had taken the business over by March 1820 (see, for example, The Morning Herald, March 6, 1820, page [1]), continuing to operate from premises in New Bond Street; their business partnership was dissolved on 29 October, 1834, after which Christopher Lonsdale set up in business separately at 26 Old Bond Street. As this work was "printed for the author by Lonsdale" and as Joseph Corfe died on 29 July 1820, it would appear that this work was published between December 1819 and July 1820.
