Provenance
Inscription on title page: "Ex Bibl. P. de Cardonnel. 1657".
Provenance
Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (19th century) with 13th-century Dean and Chapter seal and inscription “Sarum Cathedral Library.”
Binding
Later 17th-century sprinkled brown sheepskin over paper boards; sewn on three tanned leather supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind stamps at inner corners; smooth spine with blind fillets; text block edges sprinkled red. The upper pastedown is now unstuck, and reveals that it is an invoice, dated 1681. There is evidence of previous stab stitching.
Copy-specific note
"[...] cat P.83" is written in ink on turn-in of upper board; this is now visible because the upper pastedown is now unstuck.
Copy-specific note
Bound with: Umeau, De liene libellus (Paris, 1578).
