The lowest part of a majority of the pages has been damaged; nonetheless, the score is largely intact.
Copy-specific note
There is a number of performance markings, etc. entered in pencil into that part of the Anthem which begins at 'Marvellous things' (page 20) and ends with 'He is a father of the fatherless' (concluding on page 49). Performance markings include: "Cho[ru]s", "Verse", "Tenor", "both Basses", "Choir Organ", "pia[no]", "for[te]", "Full", pause marks, "Slower", occasional appoggiaturas. On page 20 is the inscription: "Psa[l]m 78 v 13-14, 16 25", on page 38: "Ps 66 v 14", at head of page 43: "68 Ps 5 v 6 & 19" and "No 2". At foot of page 49 is the inscription: "Go back to page 20 for Marvellous works".

On page 38 of the Anthem is the inscription: "3d lower". This relates to a piece of manuscript paper (10-stave) which is pinned onto page 42; in ink, this has 6 hand-written bars of recitative for tenor solo being a transposition and adaptation of the treble recitative printed on page 38. Above the manuscript recitative is the inscription: "Psalm 66th verse 14th Anthem for the Anniversary of the Salisbury Infirmary, Sep 16th[?] Dr Boyce". Pinned onto pages 46 and 47 of the Anthem: two scraps of manuscript paper.
