16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards (boards made from printed waste); sewn on four tanned leather supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming a rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with a blind stamp at centre, and the same blind stamp at the inner corners; spine with four raised bands, and blind fillets; manuscript waste used as pastedowns (now unstuck), identified by David Selwyn as two leaves from a 13th-century, probably English manuscript of Petrus Riga; remains of two pairs of red ties at fore-edge; titles and faint pressmark F60 [?] in ink on fore-edge.
