16th-century dark brown calf over paper; sewn on four tawed leather supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming a rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with a central blind cartouche stamp; spine with four raised bands, and blind fillets; manuscript waste used as endleaves, with endleaf guards made from strips of parchment manuscript waste (identified by David Selwyn as fragments from an English 14th- or 15th-century breviary); remains of two pairs of brown ties at fore-edge; titles and pressmark N26 in ink on fore-edge.
