Late 17th-century mottled dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; evidence of earlier stab stitching on some items; boards decorated with blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames, with blind stamps at inner corners of inner frame; spine with four raised bands, and blind fillets at head and tail; text block edges marbled; remains of spine label with title; date “1589” in gilt at tail of spine; leaves of blank paper bound between items; evidence of chain-plate at fore-edge of lower board.
