Note
The firm of Robert Birchall had been publishing volumes in Latrobe's series of "Selections of sacred music" from at least as early as December 1814 (see, for example, The Cambridge Chronicle and Journal, December 2, 1814). Robert Birchall died on 19th December, 1819 whereafter the firm continued trading as Birchall & Co. (see the British Book Trade Index). Birchall and Co. was certainly located at 140, New Bond Street between June 1824 and January 1829 (see, for example, advertisements in The Morning Post, June 16, 1824 and January 15, 1829).

Inscription, in ink, at head of title page: "J. E. Cother" [Jane Elizabeth Cother]. Jane Elizabeth Cother (ca. 1818-1899) married Charles William Corfe (1814-1883) on 7th July, 1842. Following C. W. Corfe's death, she married George Thomas Miles on 22nd January, 1885. As Jane Elizabeth Miles, she died on 29th April, 1899, aged 81.
