E. Hawkins, Esqr., perhaps identical with Enoch Hawkins (died 1847, aged 50). Enoch Hawkins is said to have been the finest alto singer of his time active in London; in 1833 he, in association with W. Horsley and V. Novello, superintended the musical arrangements for the Commemoration of the Founder of Gresham College, City of London on July 4th, 1833.

Inscription, in ink, at head of title page: "Jane E. Cother" [Jane Elizabeth Cother]. Jane Elizabeth Cother (ca. 1818-1899) married Charles William Corfe (1814-1883) on 7th July, 1842. Following C. W. Corfe's death, she married George Thomas Miles on 22nd January, 1885. As Jane Elizabeth Miles, she died on 29th April, 1899, aged 81.
