Apparently published in numbered fascicules, 8 pages for each fascicule, and each with the caption: Duets for all instruments No. [x]. Companion to the 'Musical gem.' This collection comprises numbers 1-16. No. 13 occurs twice, the 2nd No. 13 being corrected, in ink, to 14. This 2nd No. 13 (i.e. 14) corresponds to the 2nd fascicule of pages numbered, apparently incorrectly, 97-104; these should be pages 105-112.

Note

Duets for all instruments, nos. 1 to 19, were available by November 1861; see: North & South Shields Gazette, November 14, 1861, page 8. At this time, the Office situated at 192, High Holborn was that of the 'Musical Bouquet'. Charles Sheard (1825-1873) was the proprietor of the 'Musical Bouquet'; he was in business at 192, High Holborn by December 1849, continuing in business there until his death on 26th February, 1873. Thereafter the business continued posthumously, still bearing his name.

Bequeathed to the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle by Brigadier Tim Hackworth, military knight of Windsor and a direct descendant of Joseph Corfe (1740-1820) and Arthur Thomas Corfe (1773-1863); subsequently donated by the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle to Salisbury Cathedral Library, with the agreement of the family of the late Brigadier Hackworth.
