"J. R. Jerram Salisbury" stamped on upper endleaf, to which "ob. 11th July 1932" has been added. James Richard Jerram (died 1932) was the son of the Revd. James Jerram, rector of Fleet, Lincolnshire. He was a Salisbury resident, bellringer, and librarian of the Clerical Library, Salisbury.

"D. C. Bates" inscribed on upper endleaf. Daniel Cross Bates (1868-1954) was born in Spalding, Lincolnshire, and died in Wellington, New Zealand. He was the founder of the New Zealand Meteorological Service. (Information from Revd. Ian McKie).
