Inscription on verso of final blank leaf (before lower endleaves): "E dono John Fisher Can Res 1825". John Fisher (1788-1832) was Vicar of Osmington and of Gillingham (both in Dorset), Archdeacon of Berks 1817-1832, and Canon Residentiary of Salisbury, living in Leadenhall. He was a friend of the painter John Constable.
