J. C. Pepusch was awarded a doctorate in music (Oxford) in July 1713, M. Greene a doctorate in music (Cambridge) in 1730. Alessandro by G. F. Handel was first performed in 1726. John Stanley's Voluntaries, op. 6 were first published in 1752.

Bequeathed to the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle by Brigadier Tim Hackworth, military knight of Windsor and a direct descendant of Joseph Corfe (1740-1820) and Arthur Thomas Corfe (1773-1863); subsequently donated by the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle to Salisbury Cathedral Library, with the agreement of the family of the late Brigadier Hackworth.

Late 18th-century or 19th-century brown calf over paper boards; sewn on five supports; boards decorated with gilt fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames, with gilt stamps at outer corners of inner frame; spine with five slightly raised bands, decorated with gilt fillets.
