For vocal soli (TrTrTrTB), double chorus and orchestra (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, trombones (alto, tenor, bass), ophicleide, serpent, timpani, strings, and organ, the organ part with figured bass, unrealized); also includes a part marked "cembalo" this being a reduction for piano of the full score.

Exercise presented for the degree of Doctor of Music, University of Oxford, 1854; in connection with that event, the work was performed on 9th December, 1854 at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, Charles William Corfe being the conductor on that occasion.

Bequeathed to the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle by Brigadier Tim Hackworth, military knight of Windsor and a direct descendant of Joseph Corfe (1740-1820) and Arthur Thomas Corfe (1773-1863); subsequently donated by the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle to Salisbury Cathedral Library, with the agreement of the family of the late Brigadier Hackworth.
