No. [blank]”. “Thomas” added in manuscript in gap before “Freke”. “236” added in manuscript in gap following “No”. Part of the Gillingham Parochial Library, bequeathed to the vicar and feoffees of the parish lands of Gillingham by Thomas Freke (d. 1718?), and placed on permanent loan in Salisbury Cathedral Library 25 November 1992. "G5" inscribed on front flyleaf. Gillingham reference G5/236/-.

Late 17th-century sprinkled brown calf over rope-fibre boards; sewn on four supports; blind fillets towards board edges forming rectangular frame with additional vertical fillet towards spine; gilt tooling on spine; raised bands; leather spine label with title; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red.
