Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (19th century) with 13th-century Dean and Chapter seal and inscription “Sarum Cathedral Library.”

Binding

17th-century parchment over paper boards (possibly originally laced-case parchment); repaired October 1936; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with gilt fillet forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with gilt fleurons at outer corners, with gilt centre-piece stamp; spine with gilt stamps and fillets; text block edges sprinkled red; title "Merula Cosmographia" tooled on spine; evidence of two pairs of ties at fore-edge; new (20th-century) endleaves.
