[blank]. Attested by me (this 12 April 1735) William Newton, Vicar and Minister of Wingham, Kent. No. [blank]”. “Thomas” added in manuscript in gap before “Freke”. “231” added in manuscript in gap following “No”. Part of the Gillingham Parochial Library, bequeathed to the vicar and feoffees of the parish lands of Gillingham by Thomas Freke (d. 1718?), and placed on permanent loan in Salisbury Cathedral Library 25 November 1992. "D.9" inscribed on front flyleaf. Gillingham reference D9/231/-.

Binding

18th-century sprinkled and plain calf over rope-fibre boards; sewn on three supports; blind fillets forming three rectangular frames on boards,with blind stamps at outer corners of middle frame; raised bands; text block edges sprinkled red. Binding repaired and rebacked January 1983. Report of treatment tipped in to upper flyleaf.
