[blank]. Attested by me (this 12 April 1735) William Newton, Vicar and Minister of Wingham, Kent. No. [blank]”. “Thomas” added in manuscript in gap before “Freke”. “358” added in manuscript in gap following “No”. Part of the Gillingham Parochial Library, bequeathed to the vicar and feoffees of the parish lands of Gillingham by Thomas Freke (d. 1718?), and placed on permanent loan in Salisbury Cathedral Library 25 November 1992. "R.1" inscribed on front flyleaf; spine label with "231". Gillingham reference R1/358/231.

17th-century sprinkled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on five cord supports; blind fillets toward edges of boards forming rectangular frame with blind stamps at inner corners, and addition vertical fillet towards spine; blind fillets on spine; raised bands; paper spine label with title; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges marbled.
