Rebound by Mr. H. Bailey in German pig skin in the Nuremberg style of 1512."

Provenance
Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (20th century, reprinted 2019) with design based on the Dean and Chapter seal, and inscription “Sarvm Cathedral Library.”
Binding
Mid-twentieth century binding by Harry Bailey of Salisbury: white pigskin over wooden boards, sewn on five bands; decorated and plain rules on boards in panel design; decorated gilt borders on pastedowns; two metal clasps. Lettered on front board in gilt in Gothic characters: "BIBLIA SACRA / D. Jacob Sacon Lugduni / A. Koberger Nuremburgis / MDXII". Spine lettered "BIBLIA SACRA". All edges stained red, probably in Bailey's rebinding since many edges trimmed with loss of marginalia (not very serious).
Copy-specific note
Imperfect: lacks title page (leaf aa1) and leaf aa6.
Copy-specific note
Extensive marginal manuscript notes in Latin in different (probably 16th or 17th-century) hands), concluding on blank verso of last printed leaf (leaf Cc8v), where Samuel Mayne's name also appears.
