Chiefly for voice or voices with continuo; includes figured bass, unrealized. The 3rd work for 2 voices, unaccompanied; the 4th work for solo voice with solo instrumental part marked "Traversa è [sic, but perhaps, o] Violino" and continuo, including figured bass, unrealized.

Note

A certain James Corfe was baptized at Salisbury Cathedral on 26th February, 1713 (new style); he is likely to have been identical with James Corfe, apprentice of Edward Thompson, organist of Salisbury Cathedral, during the period 1729-1730. A certain James Corfe is recorded in the Westminster Rate Books as residing in Bentinck Street [now Livonia Street, Soho] between 1743 and 1746.

Bequeathed to the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle by Brigadier Tim Hackworth, military knight of Windsor and a direct descendant of Joseph Corfe (1740-1820) and Arthur Thomas Corfe (1773-1863); subsequently donated by the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle to Salisbury Cathedral Library, with the agreement of the family of the late Brigadier Hackworth.
