16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind cartouche stamp in centre of boards; spine with four raised bands; parchment manuscript waste (identified by David Selwyn as a strip from a 14th-century English breviary) used as a guard for the lower endleaves; title in ink on fore-edge (very faint); previous shelfmark (possibly T2) in ink on fore-edge.
