Alfred Novello on page 148 of The Musical Times and Singing Class Circular, no. 177, November 1, 1857; on pages 139-140 of that same periodical, the score of the Christmas carol was printed; the score of the Easter carol was printed in The Musical Times and Singing Class Circular, no. 182, April 1, 1858, pages 221-222 wherein it is dated 1857.
