Thomas Preston, music publisher, died in July 1834. His successors, Charles Coventry (ca. 1799-1856) and John Hollier (ca. 1801-1862), had taken Preston's business over by August 1834; their business partnership was dissolved in September 1847. William Lovell Phillips was baptized on 13th February, 1826 in the Parish of St. Augustine the Less, Bristol at which time his date of birth was recorded as 26th December, 1814; elsewhere, he is said to have been born in 1816; at the time of his death on 19th March, 1860 he is said to have been 43 years of age.

Note

Thomas Simpson Cooke (1782-1848), often known as Tom Cooke, married Angelina Smith (1803-1860) on 8th November, 1824; she was his 2nd wife and it is she to whom this work is dedicated.

Bequeathed to the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle by Brigadier Tim Hackworth, military knight of Windsor and a direct descendant of Joseph Corfe (1740-1820) and Arthur Thomas Corfe (1773-1863); subsequently donated by the Archives of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle to Salisbury Cathedral Library, with the agreement of the family of the late Brigadier Hackworth.
