17th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on three supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with addition vertical blind fillets towards spine edge; smooth spine with gilt fillets; leather spine label with title; date "1667" at tail of spine; gilt fillet around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; evidence of chain-plate at fore-edge of upper board.
