17th-century sprinkled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on six tawed leather supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards; spine with six raised bands, and blind and gilt fillets; gilt fillet around board edges; text block edges stained red; evidence of chain-plate on lower board at fore-edge.
