17th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames, with blind stamps at inner and outer corners of inner frame; spine with four raised bands, and date 1585 in gilt at tail; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red; evidence of chain-plate on lower board.
