17th-century sprinkled tan sheepskin over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards; smooth spine with horizontal gilt fillets; tan leather spine labels with author and title; date 1652 in gilt at tail of spine; hatching on head- and tail-edges of boards, adjacent to spine; text block edges sprinkled red and blue; printed waste used as pastedowns.
