Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (19th century) with 13th-century Dean and Chapter seal and inscription “Sarum Cathedral Library.”

Binding

Early 17th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind lozenge-shaped centrepiece stamp; spine with four raised bands; spine labels with "Manilius", "Cura Scaligeri", and "Lug: Bat: 1600"; printed waste used as upper endleaf guard; manuscript waste used as lower endleaf guard; evidence of chain-plate at fore-edge of lower board.
