Part of the Gillingham Parochial Library, bequeathed to the vicar and feoffees of the parish lands of Gillingham by Thomas Freke (d. 1718?), and placed on permanent loan in Salisbury Cathedral Library 25 November 1992. 17th-century mottled brown calf over rope-fibre boards; sewn on five supports; blind fillets on boards forming two concentric rectangular frames with blind stamps at outer corners of inner frame; raised bands; gilt tooling on spine; paper spine label with title; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red.
