"SS.2" and "165" inscribed on upper flyleaf. Spine label with "178". Gillingham reference SS2/-/178.

17th-century sprinkled brown calf over rope-fibre boards; sewn on three tanned leather thongs; blind fillets forming rectangular frame toward board edges, with additional vertical blind fillet towards spine edge; blind fillets on spine; paper spine label with title; blind fillet around board edges; text block edges sprinkled red.
